(More customer reviews)This work--a collection of essays published in 1973--remains one of the best in its field, and is still of great value to serious students of the catastrophic maelstrom of events leading to WWII in the Pacific. The topics covered are wide-ranging and make excellent use of Japanese source materials; Asada Sadao's essay on the Imperial Navy's contorted path to war was a seminal piece of research, and has lost none of its value over the years.
Highly recommended, and worth the modest cost many times over.
