(More customer reviews)This concise history of the SeaBees offers many first person narratives and sometimes a true gritty feeling for the struggles of SeaBees in war and in peace. Kimmel features activities from the islands of the Pacific in WWII to modern peacekeeping and relief efforts. Much of the book reads like a history textbook but he comes a long way in documenting the sometimes less glamorous but still vital jobs that SeaBees have been called to complete. However, he seems to write more about the fighting part of the motto "We Build. We Fight." Overall I recommend it to fill the missing chapters of the proud SeaBee history. This should be the second SeaBee book in any SeaBees library next to "Can Do".
